A large number of rural high school students lack strong academic interest with less stimulus, resources and accolades. In Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, this problem threatens the confidence and attention span of children on their learning. Logo LGA Academic Excellence Challenge is a programme put together by the community for community to stimulate academic excellence in children at secondary schools in their areas. Through focused academic intervention and acknowledgement, the project motivates students to improve their academic performance. It is not just about competition, but also restoring pride in learning and reiterating importance of education at the grass root level. All funds collected during this walk will go towards: – Student prizes and learning rewards – Awards for outstanding schools – Event logistics and venue arrangements – Honorarium for judges and facilitators – Refreshments and miscellaneous expenses Our budget estimate for the pilot edition is ₦750,000. Every little bit — whether it’s ₦5,000, ₦10,000, ₦25,000, etc. — will go directly to help students and schools and make this project a reality.
