Overview

I am seeking support to fund my Master’s by Research programme, which focuses on developing an AI-driven clinical decision support system to assist healthcare professionals in generating personalized treatment plans.

The research applies argument mining, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Machine Learning (ML) to analyse clinical guidelines, medical literature, and patient-specific data in order to support evidence-based and explainable clinical decision-making.


About the Research

Healthcare professionals often face complex and sometimes conflicting medical information when choosing appropriate treatments for patients. This research aims to address that challenge by developing a system that can:

  • Extract and structure medical arguments supporting or opposing different treatment options

  • Analyse patient-specific factors such as medical history, laboratory results, and other relevant clinical data

  • Compare alternative treatments based on evidence strength, risk, and suitability
