I am raising funds for my mother, Mrs. Sarah Akanbi, who urgently needs spinal decompression surgery with stabilization after years of worsening pain and mobility challenges.

Her journey began in 2023 when she suffered a fall on a walkway. At the time, she kept the incident to herself and continued with her daily activities.

In 2024, she began experiencing mild back pain, but we did not realize the extent of the injury. By the end of 2024, the pain had become severe and started affecting her movement and quality of life.

In April 2025, an MRI was conducted, and she began treatment with medications, including Cocodamol and Sirdalud. Unfortunately, these treatments did not provide lasting relief. She also underwent approximately six months of physiotherapy, which helped reduce the pain temporarily but did not address the underlying problem.

A recent MRI in April 2026 revealed that her condition has deteriorated significantly. Doctors have now recommended spinal decompression surgery with stabilization as the best chance to relieve her pain, prevent further damage, and improve her mobility.

Today, my mother relies on a walking aid to move around, yet she remains unstable and lives with constant pain. Simple daily activities have become difficult, and watching her struggle has been heartbreaking for our family.

The estimated cost of surgery, hospitalization, implants, medications, and rehabilitation is ₦10,428,000, which is beyond our family’s financial capacity. We are humbly seeking your support to help give my mother a chance at recovery, independence, and life with less pain.
