Campaign Story

Little Esther Fiyinfoluwa Adetoro’s life is in danger unless help comes in earnest from various quarters, as she is suffering from congenital heart disease (tetralogy of Fallot). She is appealing for 6 million naira special aide and intervention from the general public to correct the defect through surgery. In the medical report from Biket Medical Centre, Cardiac Consultation Unit, Osogbo, Osun State Nigeria; signed by the Medical Director, Dr. A.D. Adenle, the left atrium is not dilated, while the right atrium is dilated. The two-dimensional echocardiography report detected some defects in the vein, atrium, ventricle, great arteries, pericardium, and pulse wave doppler among others, making life unbearable for the baby and family. “The left ventricular outlook tract is unobstructed and the flow is laminar. The aortic valve is tri-leaflet with no evidence of significant stenosis or regurgitation. The left and right coronary arteries were clearly identified following the normal course,” the report read. There is also another medical report from the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Complex, Akure, Ondo State Nigeria, with Ref: UNIMEDTH/408/068/ dated May 4, 2020, which demanded N6million for surgery. The report, signed by Dr. O.A. Olubosede, declared that the “Child is diagnosed with congenital heart disease (Tetralogy of Fallot). She will be needing about six million Naira for the surgery to correct the defect. “The child is the 3rd and last child in a monogamous family. The parents are middle-class civil servants unable to meet the financial obligation for the corrective surgery and, therefore, need financial assistance.” The girl’s father, Olusegun Adetoro, who lives in Akure, Nigeria revealed that they had spent a lot of money to sustain the life of the child despite their poor financial income as civil servants. He appealed to governments at all levels, philanthropists, and the general public to come to the family’s aide to save the baby.
