Campaign Story
The prevailing economic challenges in Nigeria have significantly affected access to education for many young individuals. As a result, some families are compelled to make difficult decisions, often prioritising the education of certain children while others are directed toward learning a trade or required to delay their schooling until their financial circumstances improve. Unfortunately, this reality deprives many academically gifted students of the opportunity to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. It is against this backdrop that The Reverend Idowu Foundation was founded with a mission to provide financial assistance through scholarships to deserving youths who are willing to pursue education up to the tertiary levels. Three years after its establishment, the Foundation seeks to expand its University Scholarship Programme by attending to the needs of more financially disadvantaged young Nigerian students. The programme currently assists 3 students annually and provides academic support throughout their university education, ensuring they complete their studies without financial barriers. This Scholarship Expansion Project, therefore, aims to further extend our reach, allowing up to 30 students to benefit from the initiative every year. Our goal is to provide financial aid for tuition, buy relevant textbooks, and provide quarterly welfare needs such as groceries packages, to support academic excellence and leadership development.
