Campaign Story
My name is Israel Ifechukwu, and I grew up in Delta State, precisely in Asaba. Every single morning I would walk to school and pass the same heartbreaking sight: children my own age standing outside the gates, barefoot, eyes full of tears, because their parents could not afford the school fees or even a single notebook. I went inside. They stayed outside. That image never left me.
When life brought me to Ebonyi State, I saw the exact same pain here — kids missing school for the very same reasons. I could no longer just watch. Lack of education is quietly destroying lives in our communities — keeping families poor, dreams small, and our people from rising.
That is why I started the Nexus Scholars Foundation — Nurturing Scholars Forever. We are a small but determined group now working right here in Ebonyi to give children the two things that matter most: books they can hold in their hands, and the actual payment of their school fees so they never have to drop out again.
With your help, here is what we will do right now:
• Buy brand-new textbooks, storybooks, and exercise books for 100 primary and secondary students who have nothing.
• Pay full school fees for 50 of the most desperate children so they can stay in class this term and next.
• Visit schools in Abakaliki and surrounding LGAs to make sure every book and every naira reaches the right child.
Every ₦5,000 you give can buy a full set of books for one child. Every ₦15,000 can keep one child in school for an entire term. Small amounts, huge difference.
My dream is simple but big: that one day no child in Ebonyi will ever again stand crying outside the school gate while others go inside. I want to look back and say we opened those gates for hundreds, then thousands.
This is not just a campaign. This is me turning the pain I saw as a boy in Asaba into real hope for the next generation right here in Ebonyi. I am starting with almost nothing, but with your support, we can start changing lives immediately.
If you’ve ever felt that one small act can change everything, this is your moment. Please donate anything you can — ₦1,000, ₦5,000, ₦10,000 — and share this with your family, church, and WhatsApp groups. Together, we will make sure no Ebonyi child is left standing outside again.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The gates are waiting to be opened.
