Short Story
I’m Henry, a teacher and computer science graduate. Two years ago, I was asked to build an offline Excel system for student results—and it opened my eyes to how badly schools in Nigeria need better record tools.
Now I’m creating EdGrader, a digital portal that will store students’ results, records, health data, and progress in one safe place—just like a mini university portal for secondary schools.
I’m raising ₦500,000 to start building the website and database. Your support will help me bring this dream to life and improve how schools manage student records across Nigeria.

Campaign Story
💛 Campaign Description: Building EdGrader
My name is Henry Afekhiku. I am a teacher, a writer, and a computer science graduate. Two years ago, something small changed my life.
When I started teaching after NYSC, my school asked me to help with student results. They needed an offline system that could help teachers prepare digital report sheets. I did not know it then, but that little task would open a new path for me.
As I worked on the system, I saw something clearly:
✅ So many schools struggle with student records
✅ So many results get lost or mixed up
✅ Teachers spend hours fixing errors
✅ Students do not have a full history of their learning
✅ There is no single place to keep their academic and personal data safe
That was the moment my passion began.
Since then, I have dreamed of creating something big—something that can help schools across Nigeria.
🌱 What I Want to Build
I am building a project called EdGrader.
EdGrader will be a digital record and data portal for secondary schools in Nigeria. Think of it like a simple, friendly JAMB/University portal—but for all secondary schools.
It will help store:
- Student results
- Admission data
- CA and exam scores
- Health and welfare reports
- Attendance
- Behaviour records
- Subject performance
- And much more
Everything in one safe place.
Schools will no longer lose records.
Parents can track progress.
Exam bodies can verify data.
Students will have a full academic history.
This is my dream.
🌐 Where I Am Starting
Right now, I am starting with the first version, a strong offline Excel-based app for schools that do not have internet. I am building it myself using VBA and advanced Excel tools.
But the real goal—the big dream—is the online portal.
A proper website with a database.
A place where schools across Nigeria can log in and use it.
To begin this next step, I need support.
🎯 Why I Need ₦500,000
To start building the online system, I need at least ₦500,000 to cover:
- Website hosting
- Domain purchase
- Database setup
- Backend development
- Frontend design
- Security setup
- Basic server cost
- Testing and upgrading
- Hiring small help where needed
I am hoping to raise even more as the project grows, but ₦500,000 will help me begin the foundation.
🙏 Why Your Support Matters
I am not building EdGrader for myself.
I am building it for:
- The teachers who work late fixing results
- The students who lose files when they change schools
- The parents who want to know how their child is doing
- The schools that cannot afford expensive software
- The future of student records in Nigeria
Every naira you give brings this dream closer.
Even small gifts help.
Even sharing this link helps.
I believe EdGrader can make a real change—and with your support, I can start building it now.
Thank you for reading.
Thank you for caring.
And thank you for helping me take this first big step.
— Henry
