Flowing from an impressive track record at international moot court competions, we appeal to you seeking your esteemed support for a team of three exceptional law students from our Faculty who have been selected to represent us at the prestigious African Continental Free Trade Agreement Moot Competition (AFCFTA), John H. Jackson International Trade Law Moot Court Competition and the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Competition H. Jackson International Trade Law Moot Court Competition. After a rigorous selection process, this talented team has demonstrated a commendable commitment to their craft, meeting daily to meticulously prepare. However, due to the prevailing economic climate, the initial sponsors have withdrawn full funding, leaving the team in need of ₦4 million to cover the travel costs to Kenya for the John H. Jackson International Trade Law Moot Court Competition.

We humbly request your generous contribution, as your support would be invaluable in ensuring that our students can represent our Faculty with distinction on the global stage. Their success would not only bring honor to our institution but also inspire and motivate countless others. I thank you in advance for your kind consideration and support.

Campaign Story

REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR STUDENT DELEGATION TO THE JOHN H. JACKSON TRADE LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION, THE African CONTINENTAL FREE TRADE AGREEMENT MOOT COMPETITION (AFCFTA) AND MANFRED LACHS SPACE LAW MOOT COMPETITION    It is with a deep sense of purpose and conviction that I appeal to you today, seeking your esteemed support for the exceptional teams of law students from our faculty who have been selected to represent us at the prestigious John H. Jackson International Trade Law Moot Court Competition, the African Continental Free Trade Agreement Moot Competition (AFCFTA) and the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Competition.   After a rigorous and highly competitive selection process, a team of three of our finest legal minds has been chosen to compete in this globally renowned event, fully sponsored by the European Law Students Association (ELSA) and the renowned law firm, Van Bael & Bellis. However, due to the prevailing economic climate, ELSA has informed us that they will not be able to provide the full sponsorship as initially planned.   This team has demonstrated an admirable commitment to their craft, meeting daily (except for weekends and during exams) to meticulously prepare and hone their skills. Their dedication and passion are truly commendable, and I believe they have a remarkable chance of emerging victorious in this competition.   The total cost for the team of three students to travel to Kenya and participate in the John H. Jackson International Trade Law Moot Court Competition amounts to ₦5 million. While the cost for the other two competitions will cost about N10 million. With the unexpected withdrawal of full sponsorship from ELSA, we are faced with a significant funding gap that threatens to jeopardize our students’ participation in this prestigious event.   I humbly request your esteemed support in this endeavor. Your generous contribution, no matter the amount, would be invaluable in ensuring that our talented team can represent our faculty with distinction on the global stage.    I understand the short notice and the pressing nature of this request, but I firmly believe that your support would make an immeasurable difference in the lives of these deserving young individuals. Your endorsement would not only alleviate their financial burden but also affirm commendable commitment to academic excellence and their pursuit of legal excellence.   I thank you in advance for your kind consideration and for your continued support of our faculty and its exceptional students. Should you require any additional information or documentation, please do not hesitate to let me know.   Bryan Obinna Okwesili President, ILSA, UNICAL +234 903 239 5737
