Our Little Girl’s Story: A Silent World Waiting to Bloom**

Hi, I’m Otache Anthony Ngbede, a friend to the family of Olarenwaju Ewaoluwa, and my heart is breaking—and healing all at once—as I share the story of this precious 3-year-old

From the moment she was born, Ewa has been a bundle of joy: giggling at peek-a-boo (even if she couldn’t hear the “boo!”), clapping to the rhythm of our claps, and exploring the world with wide, curious eyes. But at just 18 months, we discovered the heartbreaking truth: *bilateral pre-lingual hearing loss*.

She was born unable to hear the lullabies we sang, the laughter of her friends, or even her own voice.

For the past year, we’ve been on an emotional journey. We started with hearing aid trials, watching her light up as faint sounds broke through for the first time—her tiny hands reaching out, eyes sparkling with wonder. But the aids aren’t enough for her profound loss. Our audiologists and ENT specialists have counseled us. Ewa needs bilateral cochlear implants to truly unlock the world of sound. This isn’t just surgery—it’s her chance to learn to speak, connect, laugh, and dream out loud.

At 3 years old, this is her  critical window.

Early intervention means she could catch up with her peers, attend school, make friends, and hear “I love you” from her family. Without it, her development could be delayed forever. She has a modest family doing everything we can, but the costs are overwhelming. That’s why we’re turning to you—our community of kind hearts—to help Olarenwaju Ewaoluwa hear the beauty of life.
