Medical Condition Summary for Yakubu Abdulhamid
Yakubu Abdulhamid is a 27-year-old young man who has been medically diagnosed with acute leukaemia, a serious and life-threatening cancer of the blood.
According to a medical report issued by the Department of Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria, Yakubu was admitted after being referred from the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna. He had been suffering for several months from severe weakness, persistent fever, bleeding from the rectum, and significant weight loss. Following thorough medical evaluation, including a bone marrow test, doctors confirmed that he has acute leukaemia.
Yakubu is currently undergoing preparation for chemotherapy, which is urgently required to save his life. His treatment involves strong cancer medications (including Daunorubicin and Cytarabine) and continuous supportive care such as blood transfusions, platelet concentrates, antibiotics, and close hospital monitoring.
Unfortunately, the cost of chemotherapy, blood products, medications, investigations, and prolonged hospital care is extremely high and far beyond what his family can afford. Without timely and complete treatment, his condition can rapidly worsen and become fatal.
We are therefore appealing to kind-hearted individuals, organizations, and well-wishers to support Yakubu financially so he can continue and
complete his treatment. Every donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in giving him a fighting chance to survive and recover.
Your support can help save a young life.
