Some shops were razed at the Akere Spare Parts Market, Olodi-Apapa in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State following a fire outbreak in the early hours of Wednesday, March 08. 2023. The unfortunate incident started at about 3:15 am, and despite the efforts of well-meaning people in the neighborhood and five fire trucks to put out the fire, it still razed down shops.
The market was set on fire by suspected political thugs stemming from the tribal bigotry championed by the Political thugs alleged to be supporters of the All Peoples Progressive Congress in Lagos against the Igbo community in Lagos State.
Akere Spare Parts Market, Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle, Lagos State is occupied majorly by the Igbo tribe of Nigeria. They woke up to the news of their shops being burned down by political thugs suspected or alleged to be supporting the APC Political Party which was due to their political choice.
A male adult with a gunshot wound was recovered around the scene of the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
