Campaign Story
Casandra Chimhurunaya Ibemere is a 26 years old vibrant intelligent young woman. She was diagnosed of Nephrotic Syndrome 6 years ago. Since then, it has been from one hospital to another hospital. Her condition has now deteriorated to End stage renal failure and is fighting for her life. Since October, 2023, the once happy and easy-going young lady has become a shadow of herself.
Cassie is a young enthusiastic, friendly young lady, with an enterprising spirit and a dedicated cherished daughter to her loving family. Her dream is to become a nurse. Her unwavering aspirations compelled her family to secure admission for her into Bowen University Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria despite her failing health. She was looking forward to a vibrant life of a promising nurse, but all these were further rudely disrupted as she battles to stay alive since her condition has degeneratd into kidney failure at an advanced stage. The family has been battling to save her life, a mission that has drained their investment, savings and resources as she has to undergo dialysis three times a week. With each session which cost at least #55,000 excluding the cost of medication, hospital admission and other sundry charges, the family’s savings had been drained. At the Bowen University Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso Oyo State Nigeria, where Cassie is admitted, she could barely talk and has resigned to fate, having exhausted all the money the family has and is now appealing to every compassionate heart to come to her aid. All efforts the family has made to raise funds for a kidney transplant has been unsuccessful, having spent between N6m and N8m on medical expenses. At Zenith Kidney Clinic in Abuja, Nigeria, a successful kidney transplant is N25m. We have been advised that further delay could cause more complications. We therefore have resorted to prayers, and appealing to well-meaning and compassionate individuals to come to our aid and help save Cassie to stay alive.
