HELP OMO IKARE AKOKO RECORD & RELEASE NEW HIGHlife MUSIC
Preserving African Heritage Through Sound
My name is Olugbenga Richard, popularly known as Omo Ikare Akoko. I am a Nigerian highlife musician, entertainer, broadcaster, MC and cultural enthusiast with a passion for preserving African music, culture and history.
I am launching this crowdfunding campaign to help me record and professionally release a collection of original songs that I have written and developed but have not yet been able to take fully into the recording studio.
These songs are more than entertainment to me. They are part of my contribution to the preservation and continuation of Nigerian highlife and African musical heritage.
Highlife has given generations of Africans a voice, a sound and a story. From the pioneers who laid the foundation to today’s new generation of musicians, our music continues to tell stories about our people, our culture, our struggles, our celebrations and our hopes for the future.
I want to contribute my own chapter to that story.
WHAT I AM RAISING MONEY FOR
My fundraising target is ₦3,000,000.
The money will help cover:
• Professional studio recording
• Music production and arrangements
• Payment for session musicians
• Bass guitar and other live instrumentation
• Mixing and mastering
• Cover artwork and visual branding
• Digital music distribution
• Music video/visual content
• Radio and media promotion
• Social-media promotion
• Publicity and release activities
WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
As an independent Nigerian musician, financing quality music production can be challenging.
I could simply wait until I have enough money to record everything myself, but I believe music is also a community.
This is an invitation to lovers of highlife, Afrobeat, African traditional music, Nigerian culture and good music to become part of the journey.
Whether you contribute ₦1,000, ₦5,000, ₦10,000, ₦50,000 or more, your contribution will help move these unreleased songs one step closer to the world.
You are not just helping me record songs.
You are helping preserve a sound.
You are helping preserve a story.
You are helping preserve part of our African musical heritage.
MY PROMISE
I will keep supporters updated throughout the project and share important stages of the journey, including studio sessions, recording progress, behind-the-scenes activities and the eventual release.
Every supporter will become part of the story behind this project.
I sincerely appreciate everyone who has supported my music, entertainment work, broadcasting and cultural projects over the years.
Now I am inviting you to join me on this new journey.
SUPPORT THE PROJECT TODAY
Help Omo Ikare Akoko take these unreleased songs from the heart and imagination into the recording studio and ultimately onto the world’s music platforms.
Together, let’s keep African highlife+ Afri-Lifri Sound alive.
Together, let’s create music for the matured minds.
Thank you for believing in the music.
