Campaign Story

My name is Daniel Ojo, and I am starting over. A little while ago, I made a decision that I believed would change my life. I decided to invest my savings, time, energy and hope into building a poultry business. I wasn’t looking for a shortcut to wealth. I wanted to build something of my own—something sustainable that could provide an additional source of income, create opportunities for others and, eventually, give me the financial freedom to pursue bigger dreams. I started small and committed myself to making it work. But things did not go as planned.

The farm suffered a series of devastating setbacks. I experienced serious operational challenges, losses and mismanagement that eventually made it impossible to sustain the business. Despite putting more resources into trying to keep it alive, the situation continued to deteriorate. Eventually, I had to make the painful decision to shut the farm down. The hardest part wasn’t simply losing the business. It was what came after. To keep the business going and recover from the losses, I had taken on financial obligations. When the business failed, those obligations did not disappear. I was left carrying the debt without the business that was supposed to generate the money to repay it. Today, I am still dealing with approximately ₦2,000,000 in debt from that failed venture.

For someone trying to live on a modest income, this has become an enormous burden. There have been moments when I have felt frustrated, embarrassed and completely overwhelmed. I have questioned some of the decisions I made and wondered how I would ever recover financially. But I have also learned something important: Failure does not have to be the end of the story. I don’t want to remain defined by what went wrong. I want to start again. I Am Starting Over I am raising funds not only to deal with the debt left behind by the failed business, but also to rebuild my financial foundation through a new and better-planned poultry operation. My goal is to raise ₦7,750,000

This will be divided into two major needs: ₦2,000,000 — Debt repayment. This will help me clear the outstanding financial obligation created by the previous business and give me the opportunity to move forward without the weight of that debt.

₦5,750,000 — Capital to start again: This will provide the capital required to establish a new poultry operation from the ground up, with better planning, stronger accountability and improved operational controls. I am not pretending that starting again will be easy. This time, I am approaching it differently. I have learned difficult lessons about financial management, farm supervision, accountability, planning and the importance of having proper systems in place. I intend to apply those lessons to whatever I build next.

Why I Am Asking for Help: I have always believed that we should try to solve our problems ourselves before asking others for help. I have tried. I am still working. I am still pushing. I am still looking for opportunities to improve my financial situation. But right now, I need help to get back on my feet. I am therefore reaching out to friends, colleagues, family, acquaintances, well-wishers and even people who may never have met me personally. You don’t have to know me personally to understand what it means to lose something you worked hard to build and then have to start again from almost nothing. Every contribution brings me one step closer to getting out of debt and rebuilding. And if you cannot contribute financially, sharing this campaign with someone who may be able to help is equally valuable.

My Commitment: I am not asking anyone to fund a lifestyle. I am asking for a chance to recover. A chance to settle the debt that has followed me from a failed business. A chance to rebuild something productive. A chance to turn a painful experience into a new beginning.

I know that ₦7.75 million is a significant amount of money. I also know that asking people to trust my story requires transparency and accountability. That is why I intend to be accountable for the funds raised and to use them for the purposes outlined in this campaign. My previous business failed.

But I have not failed: I am choosing to learn from what happened, rebuild carefully and start again. If you can support me, thank you. If you can share my story, thank you.
