Campaign Story

My name is Orie Osondu Ogbu, and I am raising this campaign because I want to rebuild the phone repair and phone sales business that I lost.

Before November 2024, I was working in the mobile phone business. I repaired phones and also bought and sold mobile phones. This was more than just a way of making money—it was a skill I had developed through practical experience and a business that gave me a way to support myself.

Unfortunately, in November 2024, circumstances caused me to lose my shop and I could no longer continue operating the business. Since then, I have been unable to raise enough capital to start again. I still have some of my phone-repair tools, but without a shop, adequate equipment, phones for sale, and working capital, I have not been able to return to the business.

The picture attached to this campaign shows some of the phone-repair tools I have. These tools remind me of the work I used to do and the business I am trying to rebuild.

I am setting a fundraising goal of ₦5,000,000. The money will help me secure a suitable place to operate, obtain the equipment I need, purchase initial mobile-phone stock and accessories, and have enough working capital to get the business running again.

I understand that ₦5 million is a significant amount of money, and I do not take anyone’s support for granted. My reason for asking is that I want to create a sustainable source of income for myself rather than remain without productive work.

I already know the phone-repair and phone-sales business, so I believe this support can give me the opportunity to put my existing skills back to work. My plan is to start carefully, keep proper records, serve customers honestly, promote the business through social media and referrals, and reinvest part of the income into growing the business.

I am asking for help from anyone who is willing and able to support me. No contribution is too small, and if you cannot donate, sharing this campaign with someone who may be able to help would also mean a lot to me.

I will provide updates as the campaign progresses and, where possible, show how the support is helping me move toward reopening the business.

Losing my business in November 2024 was a major setback, but I do not want that setback to be the end of my story. I want to work again, rebuild my business, and become financially independent.
