Campaign Story

A young teacher seeking freedom from debt.

My name is King Douglas Ehotu Adoyi and I write this with a humbled heart from Nigeria.

Life has not been easy lately. I recently returned to Nigeria to start afresh, having lived all my life as an immigrant child in Ghana. Growing up in Ghana, things were as it would be for an immigrant, but as I began thinking about settling down, marriage, and proper documentation, I decided to return to the country of my birth. Unfortunately, my research and preparations proved futile, and I fell into heavy debt trying to handle everything on my own when I arrived.

My family situation has not made things easier. My mother has been estranged from her family since I was a child, so we grew up in Ghana with little to no connection to our relatives in Nigeria. I have always been used to handling life alone, and I believe this independence is partly what led me into debt.

Today, I am weighed down by financial burdens I cannot clear on my own. I earn about ₦60,000 monthly from my teaching job, but it is not nearly enough to offset the debt and the interest that continues to grow. By God’s grace, I currently live in a donated boys’ quarters from my pastor, which spares me the cost of rent. However, the weight of debt has left me restless, sleepless, and unable to build a stable future.

I do not ask for pity but for kindness. Every donation you give will go directly to clearing my debt. I can manage my feeding and transportation with my salary, so your support will strictly go toward giving me a fresh start. My greatest desire is to be debt-free, regain peace of mind, and rebuild my life with dignity.

Debt Breakdown (Transparency)

My debts come from two lenders: EaseMoni and FairMoney. Together, their repayments total ₦183,737 per month for the next four months, adding up to nearly ₦735,000 overall.

EaseMoni Repayment Schedule

₦91,627 – due 20th September 2025

₦91,627 – due 20th October 2025

₦88,217 – due 19th November 2025

₦88,217 – due 19th December 2025

FairMoney Repayment Schedule

₦92,110 – due 22nd September 2025

₦92,110 – due 22nd October 2025

₦92,110 – due 22nd November 2025

₦92,110 – due 22nd December 2025

Total each month: ₦183,737

Grand Total: About ₦734,948

On salary of ₦60,000 per month, this is impossible to manage. This is why I am humbly asking for support to clear these debts and finally be free.
