Short Story
I’m Philip Odu — a husband and father of three young children (a newborn, a 2-year-old, and a 4-year-old). For 9 years, we’ve lived as tenants in Lagos, facing relentless rent hikes — including a 100% increase in 2025 alone.
Despite working hard and doing everything we can, the rising cost of housing keeps pushing homeownership further out of reach. Now, we have a chance to break free.
We’ve found a modest 3-bedroom home in Ikorodu — a place where our children can grow up in stability and peace. To make this dream a reality, we need ₦40,000,000.
If just 3,000 people support us with ₦10,000 each, we can finally own a home.
Your support is more than a donation — it’s giving a young family security, dignity, and a future.

Campaign Story
My name is Philip Odu. I am a husband and father of three children — ages 0 (newborn), 2, and 4. For the past nine years, my family and I have lived as tenants in Lagos, paying rent that increases every year without warning. In 2025 alone, our landlord raised the rent by over 100%. We have been forced to borrow and seek help from family members to make up the new rent because we found out that everywhere we went in search of an apartment, the rent was either the same as our current rent or higher, exclusive of agency and agreement and caution fee, which is 30% of the rent in total
I work and do side hustles, but the side hustle isn’t consistent.
My wife is a teacher. Together, we are doing everything we can — but Lagos rental prices have outpaced everything we earn. Every naira we save toward a home gets swallowed up by the next rent demand. We are trapped in a cycle that is becoming impossible to break alone.
We have identified an affordable 3-bedroom property in Ikorodu, and ₦40,000,000 is what we need to purchase this home for my family. In this home,
my children can grow up with stability, where my wife can work without fear of eviction, and where we will never have to wake up anxious about a landlord’s letter again.
Your contribution — no matter how small — is not just a donation. It is a foundation stone in a home that five people will live in for the rest of their lives. If 3,000 people give ₦10,000 each, this dream becomes real. Please share this campaign even if you cannot give — every share brings us one step closer to a door we can call our own.
