Short Story

My name is Ihuoma, an educator, child advocate, and community volunteer based in Abuja, Nigeria. For over a decade, I’ve worked directly with children in underserved communities — teaching under trees, running literacy clubs, and creating safe spaces where learning can thrive, no matter the circumstance.

Now, I’ve been offered the opportunity to pursue a PhD in Education at the University of Glasgow, where my research will explore hownature-based solutions and green school initiatives can promoteinclusive education and sustainable community development — especially in low-resource settings like mine.

This is not just an academic pursuit. It is the next chapter in my lifelong mission to bring education to life — not just in classrooms, but through the very environment that surrounds our children.

Your support will help cover tuition, visa, accommodation, and living costs. But more importantly, it will empower me to return and design learning spaces where every child can learn, heal, and grow — naturally and equitably.

Will you help me nurture this dream and plant seeds of change that will grow for generations?

Thank you, from my heart.

Campaign Story

Hello friends, family, and supporters around the world, My name is Ihuoma C. Ephraim-Ugboh, an early childhood educator, grassroots literacy advocate, and World Literacy Foundation Ambassador from Nigeria. I have dedicated over a decade of my life to transforming the lives of underserved children in rural communities like Dafara and Kutunku, Abuja; reaching hundreds of out-of-school children through storytelling, literacy camps, and community education initiatives. Now, I have been offered a place to pursue a PhD in Education at the prestigious University of Glasgow in the UK – a dream deeply rooted in my vision to scale community literacy models and influence sustainable education policy back home. This PhD program is not just for me, it is for every child whose potential has been dimmed by poverty, every mother who longs to see her child read, and every community left behind in the global learning conversation. Despite being accepted and committed, I am in urgent need of funds to cover:

  • Initial tuition deposit
  • Visa and travel costs
  • Accommodation and basic settling-in expenses

🎯 My goal is to raise £15,000 (approx. ₦22 million) to help me begin this life-changing journey and fulfill my mission of returning better equipped to serve even more children. No amount is too small. Every donation is a seed sown into the future of African children through education. Thank you for believing in this vision. Please donate, share, and keep me in your prayers.
