Campaign Story

My name is onuorah Maria Nneka a dedicated nursing student from Nigeria, fighting every day to complete my education and become a nurse who can help others. I’ve poured my heart, time, and limited resources into my studies, dreaming of the day I can support my family and community with my skills.
But right now, I’m in tears and deep distress. A few months ago, a payment of $200 (equivalent to about ₦300,000 at the time) was made from my Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) account to Atlantic International University (AIU) for a certificate program. Unfortunately, this has turned into an ongoing nightmare.
GTBank is treating this amount as an overdue debt and has activated Global Standing Instruction (GSI) recoveries. This means they’re automatically debiting money from any account linked to my BVN—including my Zenith Bank account—whenever funds appear. The latest debit of ₦3,805.35 yesterday took the last money I had for feeding and transportation. I now have zero for basic needs like food stuff, and more debits could happen anytime.
I’ve tried resolving this with the bank (including a formal complaint and promised resolution that was never honored), but the deductions continue, causing immense financial hardship and emotional pain. I can’t focus on my nursing studies, and my supporter (who has kindly paid my real nursing school fees) is stretched thin.
I refuse to pay more to AIU (an unaccredited program whose certificate may not even be recognized), as it won’t solve the root issue. Instead, I need ₦300,000 (or as much as possible) to settle this balance with GTBank once and for all. This will:
Stop all future GSI debits and restore my accounts.
Allow me to have peace of mind and focus fully
