Campaign Story

My name is Divine Ikenna Onyejiaju. I’m an 18-year-old Nigerian student with a dream so specific, so intense, it keeps me up at night: I want to become an Aerospace Engineer. Not because it sounds cool, but because I genuinely want to build things that fly, move, and push boundaries.

And right now, the only thing not flying… is me.

Let me tell you the truth.
I’ve been offered admission into respected universities abroad to study Aerospace Engineering. I worked hard to earn it. I passed my WAEC and NECO, studied under poor lighting, and taught myself advanced topics online. I didn’t have all the resources, but I had drive. What I don’t have now is the money to move forward.

I don’t have the funds to:

  • Pay my admission deposit

  • Start visa processing

  • Cover the cost of transcripts, exams, or flights

  • Even open a student account or pay some basic fees

I’ve done what I could:

  • Tutored students in physics and math to earn small income

  • Gave up outings, treats, even sleep sometimes — just to stay on track

But it’s not enough.
And honestly, this is me admitting that I can’t do it alone anymore.

This fundraiser isn’t just a backup plan — it’s my only shot.

I know times are tough. I know Nigeria isn’t easy. But if you’ve ever been in that place where you were good enough but broke, you’ll understand what I’m feeling.

I’m not here to lie. I’m not promising to build rockets tomorrow or cure poverty. I just want to go to school — to learn, to grow, and to come back and give back.
