Background
When Set Coordinators & Set Secretaries visited the VOBA Investments & National Secretariat Project Site on 24th June, 2023, it was observed that the 8 1/2 Plots of land which the project was sitting on will not be able to capture the initial plan of the National Secretariat. The plan had a design for 2 Event Halls, Offices and a Shopping Complex, but what was on ground obviously wouldn’t be able to capture that.   It was based on this reality that Set Coordinators & Set Secretaries strongly advised the National Executive Council to commence process of acquiring adjoining lands to increase space for the Project.   This noble idea was endorsed by the National Executive Council (NEC) in Akwanga on 1st July 2023, and ExCo immediately swung into action and high level contacts were made including meeting the Gwom Rwei of Turu, HRH Da Ezekiel James Dalyop (’93 Set), and a willing land owner was convinced to part with his 4 1/4 plots of land extending into our project site. Negotiations were made and the selling price was fixed at N1.7M per plot bringing the total cost of land to about N6.8M. Because land in Dahol Bob and Turu had become hot cake since it is just 400M from the newly opened Karl Kumm University, Vom, we had to affirm our declaration of interest by making a deposit of N500, 000 as part payment for the parcel of land.   At the 2024 Annual Meeting of VOBA Set Coordinators & Set Secretaries, it was agreed that internet savvy Members of VOBA should be given the opportunity to use FinTech to contribute their quota in the actualisation of this project.
