For a couple years, I’ve been sending money home to buy bags of rice for families in need, and every time, the stories I hear in return breaks my heart. The gratitude, the prayers—they stay with me. But what haunts me the most is knowing that many of these families hadn’t been able to afford rice for months, sometimes even longer.

Recently, I donated more rice, and the reality hit even harder. The need is greater than ever. Parents are struggling to feed their children, and with Ramadan approaching, the thought of families breaking their fast with nothing weighs heavy on my heart.
