Campaign Story

My name is Nosike Nwabokroha and I am from Nigeria. Born and bred in a community along the coastlines of the Niger Delta Creek, I have been privy to situations that challenged my stance on varying occasions, and I have witnessed life dynamics that has caused a shift in my being. In a search for better days, I have toiled to make ends meet yet the effort is never commensurate with the outcomes. Daily, at the riverside, we paddle the creeks for sustenance, and the meal that graces our bowel was just for that day. uncertainty lurks as the possibility for the next meal is not in sight.

The streets were never paved with glory as we had to fight each day to lay the stone that formed a path for us. The basic things of life is luxury to me and every day, all I seek is a way out of this dilemma. A shot at opportunities that will help me afford my daughter a better chance at life
Now, a single dad, saddled with the responsibility of raising my little girl who was abandoned by a mother who felt I didn’t have the wherewithal to give her the comfort of life. I, constrained by financial inadequacy, I am unable to provide my daughter with even the simplest things of life. As a believing Christian father, I have prayed, fasted and done so menial jobs, yet I have been stucked in abject poverty and misery.
With a government that cares little about its teeming populace, I have become a product of a society that has pitched me against life’s uneven odds. With a life with no job and left in the hands of fate, I seek the help of well-meaning individuals to fund my career pursuit to enable me to access opportunities that can chart a better horizon for I and my little girl. In this way I can give my daughter a better future than I have and perhaps, someday, I can hold my daughter’s hand as I walk her through a path of possible dreams, a future devoid of misery where her little aspirations become giant accomplishments.
