1. Executive Summary
Youth Enlightenment and Mentoring Initiative , Maiden Edition of Christmas Outreach Programme is dedicated to spreading love and creating smiles for the less privileged. It aimed at bringing hope, relief, and joy to the vulnerable and underprivileged individuals and families during the Christmas season within the community where we work.
The outreach will provide Medical Health Checkup, food items, basic necessities, and emotional support to alleviate hardship and promote community solidarity. The programme aligns with the spirit of Christmas—love, sharing, and compassion.
2. Background and Rationale
Christmas is a season of joy and generosity; however, many families struggle to meet basic needs due to poverty, unemployment, displacement, or other socio‑economic challenges. In Nigeria, especially Abuja, the rising living costs have further deepened vulnerability among low‑income households.
This outreach seeks to bridge this gap by providing timely support to the poor, ensuring they experience dignity, care, and inclusion during the festive season.
3. Aim and Objectives
To support poor and vulnerable individuals and families with essential relief items and festive encouragement during Christmas.
Specific Objectives
- To Provide free Medical Health Checkup-Eye screening ,Malaria testing and treatment, Deworming for under-five children,Child nutrition screeningfor malnourished children etc
- To distribute food packages and essential items to at least 5000
- To provide emotional and moral support through community interaction and goodwill messages.
- To promote social inclusion and reduce the burden of poverty during the festive period.
4. Target Beneficiaries
The programme will target: – Low‑income families – Widows and single‑parent households – Orphans and vulnerable children – Elderly persons with limited support – Persons with disabilities
Location: Gwarimpa Market Village,Abuja
5. Items to be Distributed (Indicative)
- Bags of rice / maize
- Beans / garri
- Cooking oil
- Noodles
- Salt and seasoning
- Soap and basic toiletries
- Face towels / blankets (where possible)
- Treament and distribution of drugs
