Short Story

This project aims to help 20 businesses owned by the most vulnerable women: those who are survivors of any form of gender-based inequality/abuse or who are living with disability. We will provide items like hairdressing equipment, refrigerators & freezers, sewing machines, cooking/catering utensils, craft items and so forth.

Importantly, we will also train them for free in basic SME accounting, marketing and sales, customer service and business process improvement, and civil issues. They will thus transform and scale their businesses to support not only themselves but also others.

Campaign Story

The Gender Ambassador (GA) Community Development Service (CDS) group is a special CDS group under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Community Development Scheme.  Our primary goal is to empower women and girls through specific projects and raise awareness about issues affecting them.  We are committed to contributing towards the attainment of Goal 5 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which is to “achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.” We have big visions for sustained impact in our society. We aim to be advocates for change and influencers of policy reforms.  We have conducted health outreaches; sponsored 50 girls throughout their primary and secondary education; and visited and donated to a home for children with disabilities, among other activities.
